WHAT HAPPENED

On 11 September, political analyst Haitham al-Sabti told Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) Qais al-Khazali, AAH’s secretary-general, had made a sound proposal concerning the Popular Mobilization Commission and that it should be implemented. Al-Sabti said the PMF was a security institution subordinate to the Prime Minister’s Office, the prime minister was responsible for changing its management, and the PMF should be distanced from political work.
