On 10 September, Hamid al-Musawi, spokesman for the Badr parliamentary bloc, announced parliamentary moves to challenge the Kurdistan Region presidency law and a legal move to include the Peshmerga in requirements to separate armed forces from political parties. He said the law permits the Kurdistan Parliament to move the Peshmerga outside without Baghdad’s approval and alleged that three Kurdistan-government brigades serving in the border guards receive salaries from Baghdad.
