WHAT HAPPENED

On 10 September, Qais al-Khazali, AAH’s secretary-general, identified Dr. Laith al-Khazali as Sadiqoun’s candidate for deputy prime minister, referred to a US reservation behind the scenes and said one domestic figure opposed the choice. Badr parliamentary bloc spokesman Hamid al-Musawi, speaking on Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official), said the deputy-premier posts formed part of political agreements, backed a vote and described Dr. Laith al-Khazali as a good addition.
