On 10 September, AAH secretary-general Qais al-Khazali said weapons outside state institutions should be managed by official security forces and that AAH’s weapons were already confined within the PMF. He conditioned the process on government formation and Coordination Framework approval, required the departure of U.S. forces, an end to drone flights and Iraqi air-defence systems, and rejected weapons destruction; Hamid al-Musawi, spokesman for the Badr parliamentary bloc, said resistance factions did not need weapons. Alhurra separately reported that Kataib Hezbollah and Nujaba rejected placing their weapons under state control.
