On 13 September, Shafaq News cited an informed source saying government mediation by Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi calmed a dispute between Nouri al-Maliki’s State of Law Coalition and the Sadiqoun bloc, led by AAH secretary-general Qais al-Khazali, over electoral entitlements and deputy-prime-minister posts. The report said a Coordination Framework meeting on the evening of 7 September had featured exchanges and mutual criticism between the two sides over the appointments.
