On 21 September, Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) identified Al-Malouma Center for Analysis head Salam Adel and Islamic Tribes Gathering leader Sheikh Ali al-Muhaddawi before carrying their comments on weapons control. Adel called a nine-month period reasonable, while al-Muhaddawi said citizens would benefit from an agreement setting a time limit; earlier that day, PMF military-media director Muhannad al-Aqabi said faction weapons would be regulated under state authority rather than surrendered.
