On 21 September, Kurdistan24 quoted PMF military-media director Muhannad al-Aqabi saying armed factions would not surrender their weapons but would have them regulated under Baghdad’s authority; Kalimaiq reported the fuller formulation that their management would be reorganized under federal supervision. Al-Aqabi also rejected attacks on Erbil or any other Iraqi province, while Sadiqoun MP Riyadh al-Tamimi, speaking through Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official), said his bloc supported weapons containment and regulation.
