On 25 October, Al-Ghadeer TV (Badr Organization — official owned media) carried Badr MP Karim al-Muhammadawi’s call to reopen Shib to support Maysan residents and Badr MP Muhammad al-Fartousi’s description of its commercial importance; Al-Janoub TV (Harakat al-Jihad wal-Bina — official owned media) reported MP Jawad Rahim al-Saadi speaking for Maysan MPs seeking reopening. Maysan Provincial Council head Mustafa Duair told Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official owned media) that closure affected more than 4,000 families, requested a cabinet session in the province and said the council had prevented clashes and ended a sit-in; Al-Janoub separately carried his accusation that Maysan was being sacrificed for America. Al-Ittijah TV (KH — official owned media) subsequently reported oil-company roadblocks and demands to reopen within three days or face civil disobedience, while Sabereen News (KH — affiliated/aligned media) repeated Duair’s livelihood figure.
