On 25 October, Al-Janoub TV (Harakat al-Jihad wal-Bina — official owned media) attributed to Maysan Provincial Council head Mustafa Duair a demand to reopen Shib by Thursday, with civil disobedience if it remained closed. KSS- and KH-affiliated media also reported threatened roadblocks, while Badr Organization- and Nujaba-owned outlets carried the reopening deadline. Al-Janoub separately carried Duair’s accusation that Maysan was being sacrificed for America because of the crossing’s closure.
