WHAT HAPPENED

Security sources told AFP on 12 September that Iraqi forces found drone launchers in the Al-Tib area of Maysan near the Iranian border after the East–West Pipeline attack, which Riyadh and Baghdad said originated in Iraq. Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) separately reported launch traces toward Saudi Arabia at Al-Tayeb Island and the Dourij River in Maysan.

WHY IT MATTERS

The security-source accounts narrow the reported origin from Iraqi territory generally to sites in Maysan, but they do not establish that the recovered equipment launched the pipeline attack.
