Sabah al-Numan, spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, said weapons-control talks would accelerate after the coalition mission ends on 30 September because the justifications for weapons outside state control would disappear. Nujaba Political Council head Ali al-Asadi separately said the Coordination Framework had replaced a proposal to restrict weapons to the state with an agreement to regulate them; Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) also quoted al-Numan saying there was no fixed deadline with factions.
