On 29 September, saba.ye relayed an Ashab al-Kahf (assessed Nujaba front) statement saying any foreign presence on land or in the air would face a military response beginning the night of 30 September; the statement also rejected handing over weapons. Shafaq News reported Falih al-Khazali, KSS’s Muntasirun bloc head, saying Kataib Hezbollah, Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada, Nujaba and Ansar Allah al-Awfiya would accept state control of weapons if U.S. and Turkish forces, Iranian opposition groups and the PKK left Iraq, the Peshmerga were dissolved, the Iraqi army was armed, and U.S. and Israeli aircraft were prevented from violating Iraqi airspace. Shafaq’s report establishes al-Khazali’s account, not an endorsement issued by the four named factions.
