On 11 September, Middle East Eye reported that Kataib Hezbollah had rejected an Iraqi government order requiring armed groups to disarm. The report also said Washington sanctioned Kataib Hezbollah and associated financial networks under Operation Economic Outcast; separate reports attributed the broader action to the US Treasury and said it covered nine Iraqi nationals and two Iraq-based companies, but Middle East Eye did not quote a direct KH statement on the rejection.
