On 12 September, Menafn reported in a headline that the United States had imposed new sanctions on Kataib Hezbollah. Reports from 10 and 11 September had already described a US Treasury package against Iraqi individuals, companies, economic fronts and money, oil and financial networks accused of supporting Kataib Hezbollah and Iran.
