On 28 October, former MP Mohammed al-Shabaki told Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official owned media) that integrating Sinjar Protection Units into federal forces was an important government achievement and that Erbil should have no involvement in Sinjar. He expressed hope for Turkish forces’ withdrawal from Nineveh and called for emergency and reconstruction plans, increased infrastructure funding and measures encouraging displaced Yazidis to return.
