WHAT HAPPENED

On 26 September, Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) presented a circulated document as saying the United Iraqi Company for Airport Services internally suspended services to Iranian airlines from 23 September to protect the company and shareholders’ funds from sanctions. Its captions said the company had received no formal government instruction to stop services, linked its decision to U.S. Treasury listings of Iranian companies, and distinguished suspended services from government restrictions on air traffic. Separately, 964media reported that Najaf airport had halted flights to and from Iran on an instruction an airport source attributed to the prime minister’s office; neither account establishes the circulated document’s authenticity.
