WHAT HAPPENED

On 29 September, Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) carried Sadiqoun MP Ahmad al-Asadi’s statement that parliamentary action was underway to prevent the Iranian-flight ban, and reported a temporary licence permitting Iraqi Airways flights between Najaf and Iran. Sabereen News (KH — affiliated) called the Iraqi Airways-only arrangement a “farce of sovereignty,” alleging it would permit three flights daily against more than 40 previously operated by Iranian companies.
