The afternoon converted mourning into a dated ultimatum. A statement issued in the name of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, carried on Kataib Hezbollah's and Asaib Ahl al-Haq's channels, gave the government bodies demanding the factions' weapons until 23 Safar "to see what they will do", blaming "the American enemy" for dozens of dead and opening with a categorical denial that any Saudi installation had been targeted.

Within the hour two commanders' clips answered in a leader's voice: Al-Kornet al-Kata'ibi (KSS — affiliated) captioned video with "Hajj Abu Fadak" asking "who takes our weapons, man?", and Al-Nujaba TV (Nujaba — official) posted a vow to leave no American soldier in the country. Baghdad, for its part, condemned the strikes while promising tighter control over armed groups.

The statement's own carriers contradict it on who did the killing. At 15:50 Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) reported "10 martyrs and 7 wounded" at a Popular Mobilization headquarters in Bartella and no casualties at Amirli from what it called the "Saudi-American aggression"; two minutes later Unit 10,000 (KH — affiliated) used the identical wording for a brigade bombed in Diyala. Asaib Ahl al-Haq's own outlets thus carried both the Saudi denial and the Saudi accusation inside roughly twenty minutes.

A commentator relayed by Unit 10,000 went further, saying a response "will come and will be prepared for" but is postponed until after Arbaeen rites end — the commentator's position, not the faction's. Press reports put the toll at 20 killed, including Iranians, with Iranian media counting four IRGC members, and Trump saying the strikes were coordinated with Baghdad.

By evening the escalation vocabulary hardened without an operation attached to it. Al-Ahad TV aired its Information and Analysis Centre head Salam Adel saying "we entered a new military wave after the Washington meetings" — no target, no operation, no timetable. In the same hour the KSS spokesman Sheikh Kadhim al-Fartousi insisted "every operation we have conducted we have announced frankly", a defence against an unstated charge of undeclared operations whose author the cited text does not identify.

No faction in the window claims any operation. Funeral material ran across four channel families and three factions in about forty minutes, yet only one of the dead — Haydar Mansour al-Sukaini, buried near Basra — is named and dated; two coffins in Najaf remain unnamed.

The political flank pulled three ways on the same grievance. Ansar Allah al-Awfiya's signed statement turned the casualties into a demand list — end all foreign military presence, accelerate a national air-defence system, pass the PMF law, and treat reviewing relations with Riyadh as "a national necessity" — a policy demand with no action claimed. Meanwhile Awfiya bloc head Mortada Ali al-Saadi told Al-Ahad TV "there is no clash between the factions and the government" and backed its anti-corruption drive, while Watan TV (Badr — affiliated) carried a demand to dissolve the air force and air defence outright.

Al-Ahad TV also reported Karbala pilgrims demanding a government response as Unit 10,000 announced reinforced PMF security on the Hilla–Najaf axis. By the desk's counting, 21 of 34 watched channels surged on the Saudi defence ministry.
