Commanders' refusals of disarmament run alongside the joint deadline

Assessed: Two commanders' refusals of disarmament are published alongside the joint statement: Al-Kornet al-Kata'ibi quotes "Hajj Abu Fadak" asking "who takes our weapons, man?" and Al-Nujaba TV airs a vow to leave no American soldier in the country

WHAT HAPPENED

At 16:33 on 29 July, Al-Kornet al-Kata'ibi (Kata'ib Sayyid al-Shuhada — affiliated) posted video captioned with the words of "Hajj Abu Fadak": "who takes our weapons, man?" (منو يأخذ سلاحنا يا زلمة). Two minutes earlier, Al-Nujaba TV (Nujaba — official) published video captioned "by God, my martyred sayyid, we are as you said the sons of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas — we will not leave a single American soldier in the country" (لن نبقي جنديًا أمريكيًا في البلاد). Both posts appeared within the hour after the joint statement issued in the name of Islamic Resistance in Iraq set its 23 Safar deadline for the government bodies demanding disarmament. Visual review of both clips could not identify the speakers or locations, so the attributions rest on the channels' captions.

WHY IT MATTERS

Attaching named commanders' refusals to the collective deadline removes the deniability that an unsigned collective text provides, putting individual faction leaderships on record against handing over weapons.
