On 23 September, State of Law Coalition leader Nouri al-Maliki told the US chargé d’affaires that a programme for bringing weapons under state control would be announced on 30 September. Shafaq News reported his additional account that a Coordination Framework committee was preparing a timetable and programme to be pursued through dialogue and constitutional and legal mechanisms.
