On 14 September, UA.NEWS reported that the Sinjar Resistance Units had agreed to surrender their weapons and integrate into Iraqi security forces. Sky News Arabia subsequently reported Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi’s announcement that the Yazidi Sinjar Resistance factions would begin handing weapons to the state and that Sinjar would come fully under federal security and administrative authority. The reports establish an announced process but do not say when the handover will conclude.
