On 7 October, العربي الجديد reported, citing unnamed responsible sources, that the government was preparing to send a revised PMF Authority bill to parliament. It said officials selected by Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi had made extensive amendments to remove provisions that angered Washington and provisions that would make the Authority oversized, ahead of renewed readings and a vote.
