On 10 October, Victory Coalition spokesman Salam al-Zubaidi, speaking through Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official owned media), said PMF-law amendments restrict movement powers, keep the PMF outside cities and prevent competition with the army, while preserving an independent institution without merger. Political-affairs researcher Abbas Ghadir, on the same programme, said the prime minister and Coordination Framework would never weaken the PMF and claimed that Shiites had imposed the law on America.

“Restricting the PMF’s movement powers is among the most important amendments made to the PMF law. Keeping the PMF away from cities and preventing it from competing with the army are among the amendments to the PMF law.
