Sadiqoun says Zaidi sought softer US objections to Laith al-Khazali

WHAT HAPPENED

On 11 October, 964media reported that Sadiqoun political-bureau member Hussein al-Shihani (AAH) said Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi had made considerable efforts during his New York visit to reduce American objections to AAH deputy-prime-minister candidate Laith al-Khazali. The report identified the candidate as U.S.-designated and placed the account ahead of parliament’s vote on the remaining cabinet appointments.
