On 31 October, political analyst Muhammad Khalid told Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official owned media) Qais al-Khazali, AAH’s secretary-general’s initiative for displaced people from Sinjar should expand to cover displaced families from all villages in Nineveh. He praised reported returns to four villages in Rabia, called for government intervention and all necessary facilitation, and presented Rabia as a model for other areas affected by displacement.

“His Eminence Sheikh Qais al-Khazali’s initiative for displaced people from Sinjar is important and a blessed step. The return of families to four villages in Rabia is a positive effort, and the government must provide every facilitation for their return. We need to expand His Eminence Sheikh al-Khazali’s initiative to include the return of displaced people from all villages in Nineveh.”
