Earlier, security adviser Qasim al-Araji said the committee bringing weapons under state control had no completion deadline. Political analyst Abd al-Husayn al-Juraykhi, speaking on Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) the previous day, had said state control should proceed through official mechanisms for all factions and that Iraq would protect its territory and airspace itself after 30 September.
