On 4 October, Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official owned media) attributed to Sadiqoun MP Salem al-Abbasawi (AAH — Sadiqoun) an explanation that Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi responded to Sadiqoun requests when the cabinet voted on PMF retirement legislation on Sovereignty Night. It also carried Reconstruction and Development Bloc spokesperson Abbas Hiyal’s forecast that the legislation would proceed with a national majority. Al-Janoub TV (Harakat al-Jihad wal-Bina — official owned media) reported a parliamentary agenda containing voting and readings on four laws but excluding the PMF bill.
