On 6 October, Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee member Khalid Sido told Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official owned media) that parliament would have the final say on the PMF bill and that there was a direction toward passing it. He expressed support for passage as recognition of the PMF’s sacrifices, while saying Iraq’s supreme interest and its people must come first.
