On 29 October, State of Law MP Dhuha al-Qusair described State of Law MP Yousif al-Kilabi’s remarks about former prime minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani as personal criticism, while Reconstruction and Development MP Mansour al-Baiji called them defamation and political disparagement. On Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official owned media), al-Qusair claimed State of Law had 34 MPs against Reconstruction and Development’s 30, whereas al-Baiji put his coalition at 31, potentially rising to 35. Al-Qusair claimed entitlement to three parliamentary committees, two associated with National Approach and Muntasirun; al-Baiji said the KDP sought Foreign Affairs and Health and maintained that Health belonged to his coalition.
