On 20 September, Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) carried National Wisdom Movement MP Ali Salman al-Musawi saying three factions were negotiating regulation of their weapons, that regulation was an Iraqi decision and that everyone must submit to it. He also said Iraq could not withstand U.S. sanctions for one month and that U.S. bases in the region were within the resistance’s reach; State of Law Coalition MP Falah al-Khafaji supported the government and judiciary on regulation and said opponents would cause suffering and a further dollar rise if Washington imposed sanctions.
