On 6 October, Al-Ittijah TV (KH — official owned media) attributed to MP Falih al-Khazali, head of the Muntasirun bloc (KSS — parliamentary bloc), the assertion that the government intends to raise the dinar price of $100 to 150,000. It also attributed to him a government direction to remove fuel subsidies and raise fuel prices in next year’s budget. Both measures were presented as his account of government plans, rather than an announcement approving them.
