On 25 September, the Muntasirun parliamentary bloc (KSS) condemned what it called a government decision to bar Iranian aircraft from Iraqi airports, describing compliance with a unilateral U.S. decision as a setback for Iraqi sovereignty. MP Ahmad Fawaz also condemned the restrictions, citing Iran’s military and logistical support during the fight against ISIS. MP Ahmad al-Mubarraq said he would collect signatures for a parliamentary order requiring the government to reverse the decision, arguing that it rested on neither an Iraqi institutional decision nor a UN decision.

تدين كتلة منتصرون قرار الحكومة العراقية بمنع الطيران الإيراني من الهبوط في المطارات العراقية. إن الانصياع لقرار أمريكي أحادي ومتعسف، لم يصدر عن المؤسسات الدولية التابعة للأمم المتحدة، يمثل انتكاسة ونقطة سلبية في مسار سيادة القرار العراقي.
