On 26 September, Arab Times Kuwait News reported Akram al-Kaabi, Nujaba’s secretary-general, said his group would not wait long and called on Iraqis to prepare for sit-ins at Iraqi airports unless flights with Iran resumed and what he described as U.S. control over Iraq’s aviation decisions ended. Kaabi’s conditional call had already been reported; the press account adds his statement about not waiting long. It does not report that a sit-in has begun.
