On 29 September, Sheikh Haidar al-Gharawi, Ansar Allah al-Awfiya’s secretary-general, welcomed the cabinet’s referral of the PMF bill and called on parliament to pass it promptly, securing PMF members’ rights and institutional standing. Sadiqoun MP Salim al-Abbasawi (AAH — Sadiqoun bloc), speaking on Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official), predicted a swift vote, said wounded PMF members should receive their full entitlements, and said Sadiqoun had submitted an air-defence bill to parliament’s leadership. The prime minister’s office also announced the cabinet referral, as reported by The New Region.
