On 3 September, writer and journalist Talib al-Ahmad, speaking on Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official), said Faleh al-Fayyad should have appeared before parliament because he represents an official military institution and urged parliament to take appropriate legal and legislative action over his absence. He called for the military institution to be protected from politicization and quota-based politics, and said security leaders bear responsibility for reporting unit movements and evacuating headquarters.
