Sadiqoun lawmakers (AAH) began collecting signatures for PMF chairman Falah al-Fayyad to appear before parliament over the attack on PMF sites carried out by Saudi Arabia and the United States. A Sadiqoun MP accused Fayyad of ignoring hearings into whether he had advance warning, while denying that the bloc sought the chairmanship. Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) aired calls for questioning that could become an interrogation and lead to removal if negligence were proved. On the security file, Iraq and South Korea finalized financing for an air-defense missile system. The agreement completes the financing stage for the system.

An Iraqi MP said the federal oil minister rejected an increase in the Kurdistan Region’s crude-oil allocation. The reported refusal leaves the region’s requested allocation increase unresolved.

On the economy, Iraq exported 418 million barrels of oil worth $28 billion in 2026, according to figures reported on August 25. The finance minister separately said salaries were secured and denied reports that payments would move to 45-day intervals.

Iraq’s General Company for Environmental Conservation and Germany’s Sutco signed a waste-to-resource agreement in Baghdad. The agreement establishes Iraqi and German counterparties for the project.

It named passage of the law as the sole demand, while Al-Ittijah TV (KH — official) carried a parliamentary demand for the government to send the bill but announced no participation in the sit-in.

Hamed al-Moussawi (Badr bloc spokesman) repeated that faction and PMF weapons belong under Iraqi state authority. He also said the current parliamentary session would not end without PMF retirement and structural laws, but supplied no provisions or enforcement mechanism.

In Anbar, four channels across the Badr Organization, KH and KSS networks reported that PMF forces arrested a prominent arms trafficker. Al-Ghadeer TV (Badr Organization — official), Sabereen News (KH — affiliated), Al-Kornet al-Kata'ibi and Unit 10,000 (KH — affiliated) used nearly identical wording, but none named the suspect, participating formation or seized materiel.

On weapons control, Al-Ahad TV aired two guest lines. One guest argued that disarmament pressure treated Shiite and Kurdistan Region weapons unequally; another said Washington was monitoring consolidation and that economic sanctions remained possible.

In Basra, Al-Janoub TV (Harakat al-Jihad wal-Bina — official) reported that contract workers continued protesting over delayed salaries before iNEWS (KSS — affiliated) reported their dispersal by riot forces. Neither channel claimed militia involvement or stated a faction position on the dispersal.
