On 18 October, Sadiqoun parliamentary spokesman Mohammed al-Baldawi (AAH), speaking on Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official owned media), advocated a presidential system through constitutional amendment, with a parliamentary vote followed by a public referendum, and said the First Deputy Speaker would lead the initiative. He said resistance and political negotiation should proceed in parallel, asserted that Sadiqoun received less than its entitlement in appointments, and predicted that the prime minister in 2029 would come from the bloc. He also linked deferral of Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi’s fourth deputy-premier post to the Migration Ministry dispute, saying political forces had agreed that al-Zaidi would nominate its minister, that the Kurdistan Democratic Party opposed his candidate, and that the portfolio belonged to the Christian component rather than a party.
