Overnight on 21–22 October, Al-Janoub TV (Harakat al-Jihad wal-Bina — official owned media) reported Tehran’s displeasure over the closure of the Shib crossing between Maysan and Iran, alongside fears of paralysis in Iraqi trade. This followed its publication of a request attributed to al-Saadi for parliament to discuss the closure’s reasons, economic and humanitarian consequences, and the responsible government agencies’ handling of it. Harakat al-Jihad wal-Bina (official social media channel) subsequently republished the request, while جريدة المدى had also reported Iranian anger over the closure.
