WHAT HAPPENED

On 24 September, a statement from the Badr parliamentary bloc’s spokesman, carried by Al-Ghadeer TV (Badr Organization — official), categorically denied reports of defections and said the bloc remained united under the approach of Hadi al-Amiri, Badr Organization secretary-general. A follow-up post said differences of opinion on parliamentary matters were normal and did not amount to a split. The spokesman’s statement establishes the bloc’s denial, not the accuracy of the reports it disputes.
