On 20 September, iNEWS (KSS — affiliated) and Al-Ghadeer TV (Badr Organization — official) carried Parliamentary Security and Defence Committee head Mahdi Taqi al-Amirli’s allegation that SOMO manufactured the gasoline crisis and closed routes to solutions except through Saudi and Emirati companies. Al-Ghadeer TV added his allegation that the arrangement sought to inflame discord and push demonstrations into the streets.
