Watan TV, aligned with the Badr Organization, posted two items minutes apart on the evening of 6 August: State of Law stating its position on confining weapons to the state under the constitution and law, qualified by preserving civil peace and avoiding internal confrontation; and a "special sources" report that political forces have granted al-Zaidi broad authorisation, on the basis of which the anti-corruption campaign and arrests of those implicated in wasting public funds will continue. Separately, AAH's official armed-group channel reported that Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi cancelled military lanes at checkpoints and subjected all government convoys to inspection.
