On 26 September, FAA (Ansar Allah al-Awfiya — official) argued that Iraq should not need another state’s approval to decide what happens in its airports and objected to seeking a U.S. exemption. iNEWS (KSS — affiliated) separately attributed to Services Alliance a request that Baghdad seek an exemption from measures affecting Iranian aviation. The two positions oppose the flight restrictions but prescribe different dealings with Washington.
