On 10 September, AAH secretary-general Qais al-Khazali said Iraq’s state position was clearly alongside the Islamic Republic and that Iraq had been among Iran’s leading supporters. He described the regional war as ideological, religious and strategic, including an objective of overthrowing the Islamic Republic, and presented the IRGC as armed volunteer groups that were subsequently organized.
