On 30 September, Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) published AAH’s statement that closing the chapter of the U.S. military presence begins a new responsibility for Iraqis: consolidating sovereignty, protecting national decision-making and building a strong, secure, independent Iraq. In the same series, AAH called for protecting Iraqi airspace against violations by providing the armed forces with modern air-defence systems it said they lack. These are demands for state capability, not an announcement of an AAH deployment.
