On 13 October, wounded PMF member Ahmed Saleh told Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official owned media) that salary payments ordered by the prime minister were being obstructed and protesters’ files withheld from the prime minister’s office. He also alleged that riot-control personnel beat protesters and that a lieutenant colonel threatened arrest and torture, calling for the prime minister to hold those responsible accountable.

“The prime minister ordered our salaries to be paid, but al-Fayyadh is evading this. Faleh al-Fayyad misled us with false promises and refuses to send our files to the prime minister’s office. An officer with the rank of staff lieutenant colonel threatened us with arrest and torture. We demand that the prime minister hold the riot-control personnel involved in beating us accountable.”
