Badr-affiliated channel relays Hoquq demand to pass PMF law

WHAT HAPPENED

Watan TV (Badr Organization — affiliated) posted this evening: "Harakat Hoquq member Ahmad al-Jabri: the Iraqi parliament must approve the Popular Mobilization law in response to the recent attacks whose victims exceeded 20 martyrs" (على البرلمان العراقي أن يقر قانون الحشد الشعبي ردا على الهجمات الأخيرة التي راح ضحيتها اكثر من 20 شهيد). The statement names no perpetrator of the attacks it invokes and gives no location or date for them. Harakat Hoquq is the political movement associated with Kataib Hezbollah; the demand is relayed by a Badr-affiliated outlet, not issued by the Badr Organization, and no other tracked channel in the collected window was observed carrying it.

WHY IT MATTERS

Attack casualties are being converted into legislative leverage on the PMF law, which sets the framework for the force's legal standing, pay and retirement.
