On 1 October, iNEWS (KSS — affiliated/aligned media) relayed Nujaba’s warning against American presence through security companies or advisers, alongside demands to reduce the U.S. embassy to the scale of other embassies rather than a large security and military city. Nujaba also demanded that U.S. forces be moved away from Iraq’s borders with Syria, Jordan and Kuwait, and that U.S. dominance over Iraq’s economy and resources and interference in Iraqi politics end.
