Badr and Muntasiroun MPs move to kill the PM's Riyadh trip

Badr Organization and Muntasiroun parliamentarians publicly demanded the Prime Minister drop or postpone his planned Riyadh visit, with the Muntasiroun member also demanding the Saudi ambassador be summoned

WHAT HAPPENED

iNEWS (KSS — affiliated) carried Muntasiroun bloc member Ibtisam al-Hilali twice within six minutes: "we reject the aggression on the Popular Mobilization Forces headquarters and we demand al-Zaidi postpone his visit to Riyadh and summon the Saudi ambassador." Roughly eleven minutes later, Al-Ghadeer TV (Badr Organization — official) carried Badr parliamentary bloc official spokesman Hamed al-Moussawi: "we demand the Prime Minister cancel his anticipated visit to Saudi Arabia out of respect for the blood of the martyrs." Asaib Ahl al-Haq's statement in the same hour named no state, referring only to "foreign states, some of which claim to be allies and others to be brothers."

WHY IT MATTERS

An announced item of Iraqi state diplomacy is now the object of an explicit parliamentary demand tied to militia casualties, making the Prime Minister's handling of the Riyadh trip a public test of whether these blocs can veto scheduled foreign engagements.
