AAH's channel puts missing oil money and lost tankers on salary risk

Assessed: Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) ran back-to-back economic segments alleging 20 trillion dinars a year in escaping oil revenue and a loss of tanker capacity threatening future salaries

WHAT HAPPENED

Within three minutes on 28 July, Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official owned media) posted two segments under the same programme hashtag #برج_مراقبة. In the first, economic expert Dr. Muhannad al-Amari is quoted on "20 trillion annually" and asks "I have oil going out and escaping, is it not being collected?" (عندي نفط جاي يهرب ما يستحصل؟). In the second, Mustafa Hantoush raises "we made a 27 dollar discount" and states "we depend on crude oil revenue and we no longer have tankers!" (احنا نعتمد على إيراد النفط الخام وما عدنا ناقلات), framed as a problem obstructing the future of salaries. Both are guest voices carried on AAH's platform, not AAH statements; no other tracked channel in the collected window carried either line, and no external reporting on the figures was supplied.

WHY IT MATTERS

Salaries are the most politically combustible line in the Iraqi budget, and an AAH platform building a case that the state is losing oil money and cannot ship its crude sets up a grievance frame usable against the finance and oil ministries.
