On 30 October, Al-Janoub TV (Harakat al-Jihad wal-Bina — official owned media) attributed to programme guest Hussein Baroud the declaration that he was an American citizen standing with Iran, and to programme guest Haidar al-Barzanji the reply that he should renounce his citizenship. The channel subsequently relayed the PMF Authority’s denial that Iranian advisers received Iraqi government salaries during the war against terrorist groups. The Authority said Iran supplied weapons and ammunition, some free of charge, and advisers, 55 of whom were killed.
